The International competition was launched by the Algerian Ministry of Defense to create an exclusive thermal complex for military personnel in the Hamman Debagh thermal region. The program included, in addition to the thermal facilities, accommodation, commercial areas and restaurants, as well as leisure areas that included an outdoor swimming pool and equipped green spaces, among others. The proposal presented, considering the extensive program, sought to densify the buildings for accommodation, creating apartment blocks with 12 or 4 floors, which allowed the preservation of natural spaces around the buildings and implement common uses in buildings with two floors. To reduce the impact of the development, the lower buildings, where the reception and spa are located, were partially buried to create a continuous green roof with the surrounding green spaces.
