General City Plan Revision - Ondjiva

Building on existing regulation and the General Land Use Plan from 2004, the plan aimed to set the strategic objectives to accommodate growth and support the spatial elements of the plan focusing on economic diversification, managing demographic growth, balanced economic development and increase regional competitiveness.

To set an integrated vision for the city we combined land use planning with the assessment of transport and route network needs to improve cross-city connectivity and extend the city´s land-use distribution.

The plan´s strategy is also marked by the definition of an ecological structure the allows the city to preserve and embrace the natural context, namely by improving the environment in the watercourses and integrating natural habitats in the urban environment.
